Intraday Charts graph the performance of individual stocks for the current day. A current quote is provided automatically with your chart.

 

Direct platform quotes are delayed 20 minutes. Direct Pro quotes are continuously updated.

 


Chart the Daily Performance of a Stock

  1. Select Intraday Charts from the Charts drop-down menu.
  2. Enter the stock symbol of your choice, and click "Enter.”
    (Click Symbol Lookup if you need help determining the symbol of a company)
  3. A chart will appear.
  4. Customize the chart using the functions below:


    Frequency How often data points are plotted. (The default frequency is 5 minutes.)
    Line Style How data points are represented on the graph. Candlestick is the default style. Other options include Line, Range Bars, and Mountain.
    ComparisonIndex Compares the stock's performance with a major market index. The index appears in blue; the stock appears in black. Comparison is always based on market opening price at 0%.
    Lower ChartIndicators Displays volume, moving average convergence/divergence, price rate of change, or relative strength for the stock on the lower portion of the graph.

  5. Click "Create Chart" to apply your changes.

Available Actions

The following actions are available on this page:

 

Click "Add to Watch List" -- Adds the symbol to your currently active "Watch List."

Click "Symbol Lookup" -- Takes you to the "Symbol Lookup" page.

Click "Trade" -- Brings up a trading page and fills it with the stock symbol.

Click "Charts" -- Generates an Intraday Chart for the symbol.

Click "News" -- Brings up news headlines for the symbol.

Click "Chain" -- Generates a list of available options and quotes for those options.

 

Click on the Symbol -- Generates a detailed quote.

Click on the Bid price -- Opens a trading page and populates it with the stock symbol and bid price.

Click on the Ask price -- Opens a trading page and populates it with the stock symbol and ask price.

 

Click "Intraday" -- Opens the Intraday Charts Page.

Click "Historical" -- Opens the Historical Charts Page.

Click "Intraday Comparison" -- Opens the Intraday Comparison Charts Page.

Click "Historical Comparison" -- Opens the Historical Comparison Charts Page.


Understanding the Data Fields

QUOTE
Symbol The publically traded company's registered stock symbol.
Bid The price that a potential buyer is willing to pay.
Ask The price that a seller is offering the security for sale. Also called "offer."
Last The price of the most recently executed transaction.
Change The difference between the Last price and the Close price.
Ex The primary exchange listing the stock. Some codes are:
NASDAQ (Q), NYSE (N), AMEX (A), ARCA (P), CBOE (C), Options (O), Mutual Funds (F), OTC.BB (U) and OTC Other (Pink) (V)
Volume The number of shares traded today.
High The highest price today that a trade was executed on the given security.
Low The lowest price today that a trade was executed on the given security.
Open The price of the security when the market opened today.
Prev Cls The final transacted price before market close on the prior trade date.
