Symbol Lookup

 

The Symbol Lookup window matches companies with their symbols and/or CUSIP (the company's unique SEC identifying number). Search for a symbol using the company name or CUSIP number, or a generic financial term (e.g. NASDAQ).

 

If you customize this tool and wish to preserve the changes for future sessions, you must select Save Layout from the File drop-down menu before exiting the platform.

 


Find a Stock Symbol

  1. Select Symbol Lookup from the Feature drop-down menu.
  2. Choose to search by "Name" or "CUSIP." Enter all or part of the company name (or CUSIP number) you wish to find in the Symbol Lookup field.
  3. Select 1 or more "Exchanges" from the list provided, and click the "Search" key.
  4. A list of companies corresponding to your request will appear. Use the "<<" and ">>" buttons to navigate through the results.

Trade a Symbol

To trade a stock located using Symbol Lookup, simply click and drag the stock onto the Market Depth Window, and complete your order.

Other ways to trade include using the Trade Strategies window to create a trading strategy.


Float the Symbol Lookup Window

Right-click on the Symbol Lookup window, and select Float Window from the pop-up menu.


Customize Colors Using the Properties Window

  1. Right-click in the body of the window.
  2. Select Properties from the drop-down menu, and click the Color tab.



  3. Select an element from the Color menu. Move the sliders to alter the color of the selected element; or click the Color Picker and select a color from the pallet provided. The new color will appear in the Current Color box.
  4. To make the new color the "default" color for the window, click the Save as New Default Color button. The new color will appear in the Default Color box. To revert to the default color, click the Reset to Default Color.
  5. Click OK to save.



Customize Fonts Using the Properties Window

  1. Right-click in the body of the window.
  2. Select Properties from the drop-down menu, and click the Fonts tab.



  3. Select an element from the Font menu. Click the Font Picker and select a color from the pallet provided. The new color will appear in the Current Color box.
  4. To make the new font the "default" font for the window, click the Save as New Default Font button. To revert to the previous default font, click the Reset to Default Font .
  5. Click OK to save.
