News Search

The News Search window consolidates news and quotes in one easy-to-access area. Stories are sorted by date and time, with the newest headlines at the top.

If you customize this tool and wish to preserve the changes for future sessions, you must select Save Layout from the File drop-down menu before exiting the platform.

Use News Search

1. Select News Search from the Feature drop-down menu.
2. Enter stock symbol of your choice, and press the "Enter" key.
3. A detailed quote will appear on the top portion of the window. News headlines will appear below. Click on any news headline to view the entire story.

Customize the News Search Window

To access customization tools, right-click on the top portion of the News Search window, and select the option you wish to change from the list provided:

Links -- Links (and unlinks) News from the Board view.

Floating Window -- Detaches (or reattaches) the News Search window from the software and floats it over currently running applications.

Display NASDAQ Logo -- Displays (or hides) the NASDAQ logo.

Display Order Entry Bar -- Displays (or hides) the bottom Order Entry portion of the window.

Trade from News Search

To trade a stock from News Search, simply click and drag the stock symbol onto the Market Depth window, and complete your order.

Other ways to trade include:

1. Adding an Order Entry Bar to News Search, (see above) and
2. Using the Trade Strategies window to create a trading strategy.
