Customize Baskets
Basket windows can be customized easily by right clicking either on the Data Columns or on the body of the window.
If you customize this tool and wish to preserve the changes for future sessions, you must select Save Layout from the File drop-down menu before exiting the platform.
Trade Generally from the Baskets Window
- Right-click on the Board View and select Display Order Entry Form from the pop-up window.
- An Order Entry form will attach to the bottom of the Board View. Enter your order normally and Click "Buy," "Sell," or "Sell Short" to complete your order. See "Buy a Stock" or "Place an Advanced Order" for more information.
Trade the Orders in Your Basket
- Right-click on the name of the basket (Example: "Computer Technology") and select "Execute Basket" from the pop-up menu. To trade just one stock, click on the stock and choose "Execute Order."
- A "Basket Order Verification" window will pop up. Review your order and click "Submit" to send your order. If any additional information must be supplied before your order can be sent, an "Order Completion" window will pop up. Review your order and make any required changes.
Set New Defaults for Order Entry Bar (Defaults for this Tool)
You now have the ability to preference specific order types based on the exchange in which a security is listed. To customize these preferences:
- Right mouse click on the window and select "Order Entry Properties"
- Click the radio button "Use Defaults Below". This will allow for advanced customization.
- Select one or more exchanges to customize.
- Once the exchange is selected, the order entry properties may be defined including Asset Type, Trade Size, Order Type, Route, TIF, and more. Fields may be customized based on any number of scenarios. You are not required to define each field.
- Click the "Save Defaults for New Order Entry" if you would like these defaults to apply to all new trading-enabled windows you open. All currently opened windows will retain their current settings, but all new windows will adopt the defaults defined here.
- Select "OK" to finalize the process and begin using the new defaults. Or select "Cancel" to exit without saving.

Customize the Data Columns
- Right-click on one of the Data Columns. (Example: "Symbol")

- Select one of the following options from the drop-down menu to alter it:
Sort Ascending -- Sorts the selected column from lowest to highest.
Sort Descending -- Sorts the selected column from highest to lowest.
Best Fit -- Automatically optimizes the width of the column.
Hide Column -- Removes the selected data column from the Basket.
Column Picker -- Opens a list of data columns that can be added to the Basket.
Fully Customize the Baskets Window
- Right-click in the body of the Baskets window.

- Select one of the following options from the drop-down menu to alter it:
Title Bar -- Hide or show the blue "Basket" title bar.
Clone Window -- Creates a duplicate Basket window.
Links -- Links (and unlinks) Market Depth Window, Charts, and Board View.
Execute Basket -- Sends the orders contained in the selected basket to the market.
Cancel Last -- Cancels the last order sent to the market for execution.
New Group -- Creates a new basket for grouping stocks.
New Symbol -- Adds a new symbol to your lowest basket.
Remove Group/Symbol -- Removes the selected group or symbol from the Basket.
Add Columns -- Opens a list of data columns that can be added to the Baskets. To add an item, simply click and drag the item from the list into the Data column portion of Baskets.
Floating Window -- Detaches (or reattaches) the Basket window from the software and floats it over currently running applications.
Display Order Entry Form -- Adds an Order Entry Form to the bottom of the Basket window.
Properties -- Controls the content and appearance of the Basket window. Select custom colors, font size, and face for your baskets.
Customize Colors Using the Properties Window
- Right-click in the body of the window.
- Select Properties from the drop-down menu, and click the Color tab.
- Select an element from the Color menu. Move the sliders to alter the color of the selected element; or click the Color Picker and select a color from the pallet provided. The new color will appear in the Current Color box.
- To make the new color the "default" color for the window, click the Save as New Default Color button. The new color will appear in the Default Color box. To revert to the default color, click the Reset to Default Color.
- Click OK to save.

Customize Fonts Using the Properties Window
- Right-click in the body of the window.
- Select Properties from the drop-down menu, and click the Fonts tab.
- Select an element from the Font menu. Click the Font Picker and select a color from the pallet provided. The new color will appear in the Current Color box.
- To make the new font the "default" font for the window, click the Save as New Default Font button. To revert to the previous default font, click the Reset to Default Font .
- Click OK to save.
