Custom Search Sets

If you wish to search the market using parameters other than those provided in the pre-defined sets, you can create a custom search set.

Create a Custom Search Set

  1. From the Feature drop-down menu, select Market Matrix , then User-Defined , then New Query.
  2. A New Market Matrix Evaluation Set window will appear. Give your new search set a name. (Example:"Penny Stocks")

  3. The Market Matrix Properties window will appear.

Begin by setting General Parameters for your search set. From the Primary Search drop-down menu, select the type of stock you wish to locate (Largest Percentage Gainers, Largest Overnight Gap, etc.). Check the box next to the exchanges you wish to search (NYSE, AMEX, etc.) and select the number of results you wish to view (from 5 to 40).

  4. Next, add Specific Parameters to narrow your search. From the Search Parameters menu, select an option such as "Last Price at Most" and click the ">" button.

A small "Matrix Parameter" window will appear. Insert a price or percentage and click "OK." The option will be added to the "Full Description" window. Use this window to read the parameters of your search.

To delete the option, click on it in the "Full Description" window and click the "Delete" button.

If desired repeat this step again to further limit your search.
  5. Click "OK" to save your custom Evaluation Set.
  6. To view the results of an Evaluation Set once it has been created, simply select it from the drop-down menu at the top of the Market Matrix window. The Matrix will continually scan the market for stocks that meet your criteria, so the list may change frequently. To temporarily stop this process, click the "Freeze" button.

Trade from the Market Matrix

To trade a stock found using the Market Matrix, simply click and drag the stock onto the Market Depth Window and complete your order.

Other ways to trade include using the Trade Strategies window to create a trading strategy.
